Ady's First Easter

My beautiful baby girl with my amazing husband on Easter Sunday! She did so well at her first Easter service. She enjoyed looking around at the people and the sun shining in the church. She even was able to get in a little nap. I don't think life can get anymore perfect, I am truly blessed. We are blessed to have such a loving, supportive family. Although a little scary and stressful during the first month, it was all worth it. Adelyn is such an amazing, good baby. She loves watching us, she smiles at the silly faces we make, and even acts like she wants to laugh (probably because she can't believe we are her parents). She is changing everyday, it is hard to believe she is almost 12 weeks old! Mommy and daddy are feeling more rested, Adelyn has been sleeping through the night for several weeks now. She also has recently outgrown her newborn clothing. It was a sad day for me to pack away her clothes because it was my first realization that my baby is going to grow up. We love our Adelyn so much, and look forward to many smiles and laughter!

Our Peanut is already 2 months!

Mommy and her little angel in her first Bears shirt and jeans! As you can see her legs are a little short for the pants, but she still looks adorable.

I'm beginning to see a pattern with our pictures of Adelyn, she is always sleeping. Well she is adorable and pretty peaceful looking so I can't pass up on these shots.

We caught a quick smile while taking her 2 month photos on her frog in her first dress. We think she actually smiled at us yesterday, but she has yet to show us again. She does give us little smiles while falling asleep that are truly priceless.

These two photos are just hilarious so they have to be included! We spend our time just watching the funny expressions Adelyn makes, wow how times have changed!

Thursday was Adelyn's two month well child checkup, and she did great. She is 9 lbs and 12.5 oz! The doctor said she is looking great, and may not have to be classified as "preemie" much longer since she is catching up on some milestones. She also received her first set of immunizations which was a bit more traumatic for mom & dad than Adelyn. It is crazy to think we don't go back to the doctor until 4 months which is also the time I go back to work, and Adelyn will be going to daycare a few days a week. We visited the daycare on Thursday, and although we don't want to take her anywhere, we feel comfortable taking her to this location. Although Tim said the other babies looked like they could eat her since they were twice her size. We are quickly finding out just how fast babies grow! Looking back at Adelyn's hospital photos seem like a totally different baby, and we can now appreciate the fragility of the entire situation. We thank God everyday for our little blessing!

Sneak Peek!

Last Sunday we had Adelyn's newborn photos taken, and we are pretty sure we have the cutest baby ever!!! She did so well, and the pictures turned out incredible. We are waiting to see the rest once the editing is complete. After everything is done, we will finally be able to send out her birth announcements! Enjoy the pics of our little Adelyn!

40 weeks later...

Cake for Adelyn on her due date! A co-worker of Tim's surprised him with a cake to celebrate Adelyn's arrival. He is so fortunate to have a wonderful group of people to work with everyday!

Yesterday was so beautiful, we took Adelyn and a couple of overweight doggies for our first family walk. Needless to say it is the first of many, we love to walk in the evenings when the weather is nicer! We may have bundled her up a little too much because she was a little sweaty when we got home.

This is how Adelyn spends most of her days and evenings, too bad everyone else in the house isn't so lucky. Baxter and Ginger are beginning to adjust to the interrupted sleep schedule, but Mommy and Daddy aren't so lucky. Being tired all day and a little irritable is completely worth it when we get to see our beautiful baby girl!

Adelyn on her due date, already 5 1/2 weeks old! Our little leprechaun has already given us so many memories and a few heart-stopping moments already. Adelyn we love you so much and can't imagine our life without you!

One Month Old!

Even though we have only been home for one week, Adelyn is already one month old. We plan to take monthly photos of her with the froggie chair since it will serve as a gauge to see her growth. It will be much easier once she is able to hold her head up her own.

Ginger serves as Adelyn's guard dog. We are so pleased with the way the puppies have accepted her, although Baxter has yet to really "accept" her because she makes too many sounds for him to get close right now.

Adelyn enjoying her first swing ride. Yesterday she actually was watching the mobile as it was rotating.

Adelyn enjoying some much needed Grandma Sass time. She can't wait to have a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Sass soon!

She already has Grandpa Andrews in love with her. She is excited to show Grandpa how cute she is now that she doesn't have any tubes or leads now!

Grandma Andrews is enjoying a little slice of heaven while holding Adelyn. She loves holding Adelyn and commenting on how perfect she is, and Mommy is not one to disagree!

Adelyn will have her first professional photo session next week, so we hope to get announcements in the mail soon!

We Are Home!

Yesterday we came home as a family for the first time. We are so excited to finally have her home. We are spending our time loving Adelyn so much, and trying to get to know our daughter. So far she is fairly easy to please, rarely spending much time crying unless she is hungry. Our first night wasn't too bad even when she was waking us up every 2 hours for a "snack". Although we definitely won't complain because we would rather wake up every 2 hours in our home, then have to visit her in the hospital. One of our favorite things is holding her and walking around the house since she no longer has the cords attached. We also love snuggling with her while she naps, any we might be guilty of snoozing a little too. Ginger and Baxter are very interested in her. Each time she starts to make sounds or cry a little, one the dogs usually comes to either Tim or me to make sure we are going to find out what is wrong. Both of them have slipped quick kisses on her head, even if we are holding her and telling them to get away. All of us are trying to get into a routine of our new family, and loving every second if it!

Going Home?

Yesterday we received wonderful news that we would room-in with Adelyn, where basically we care for our baby and the nurses are available if we need them. It is to simulate life at home, so she is still on the monitor but we don't get to see the numbers. We were told she can go home after two nights of weight gain, and we are happy to report she gained weight last night. So fingers crossed she gains weight today and we can go home tomorrow. We have really enjoyed the last 24 hours as our little family should be, with the exception of the puppies at home. We can't wait to bring her home and have the entire family together under one roof! Once we get home we will be able to get more pictures on the blog. Things have been especially crazy over the last 10 days as we have been working to exclusively breastfeed Adelyn. The hard work (and patience) has paid off because she is getting all the nutrition through breastfeeding, and we won't have to introduce bottles to her yet. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers, we are so thankful for the support. We know it is with the help of everyone that we are coming to end of our NICU stay!
