Roll Over...

She has found her hands, they are captivating
Last week was a week of firsts for the Sass Family!  I finally went back to work after an extended maternity leave.  Although it was difficult to leave my precious Ady, I knew she was in good hands with Daddy (and Grandma later in the week).  It is comforting that I am only going back part-time, primarily because we are having the hardest time finding daycare that works with our schedule.  Although I do enjoy being able to spend most of my week with Ady, and only a few days at work.  Another big event that happened last week was Adelyn surprised herself and everyone else when she rolled onto her back.  We were able to catch it on video, and now she thinks it is a fun trick to do whenever it is tummy time.  She is even starting to roll onto her side when she is lying on her back, boy are we gonna have to watch her now.  We were especially excited with this "milestone" because that means Adelyn is right on track for development.

All that work takes it out of you!

She is getting so big, she likes to show everyone!

We are also so ecstatic to report that Ady is sleeping 10 hours over night! Hopefully this isn't a fluke, but she has been doing this for a week or so already. Our little ladybug finds ways everyday to make us smile, and we are so blessed to have our little family!

Baptism

Miss Adelyn was baptized on May 22, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington, Nebraska.  We were able to celebrate this day with most of our family, and a few close friends.  It was especially nice for me since she was able to wear my christening gown, over 30 years old!  She was truly an angel, she slept through the entire ceremony and much of the service.  She probably thought she was getting a bath with the water was running over her head.  We are so blessed to have this amazing gift from God.

Adelyn with her proud parents!

Adelyn's godparents Therese and Steve Acamo were proud as well!

Adelyn's favorite people (those that spoil her the most), her grandparents!  She is so lucky to have such loving grandparents.

Grandma & Grandpa Great!

We were so blessed to be able to travel to visit my grandparents, Adelyn's great-grandparents! Although the trip was too quick, it was such a gift to be able to introduce them to Adelyn. My heart smiled watching Adelyn soak up the love of my grandparents. It was incredible watching them with Adelyn probably much the same they did with me when I was a baby. Since it was such a long day in the car we decided to have a little fun with pictures. Here is Adelyn with her new shades, gotta protect those eyes!!!

Grandma and Grandpa were so excited and couldn't stop smiling the entire time we were there. It was so sweet when Adelyn was holding Grandpa's hand!
We weren't able to get a photo of them looking at the camera because they wanted to look at Adelyn the entire time.
They just loved watching her sleep! I'm glad that I'm not the only one to watch Adelyn in such a peaceful moment.
Just a little addition, one of my favorite photos of Adelyn. She loves lying in crib watching the mobile, she just giggles and smiles at her little friends. We are so blessed to have Adelyn in our lives!

Coos and Laughs

Adelyn cooing for the camera with a little laughter! She also has some cute expressions. Oh how our evenings have changed, we love to sit and listen to Adelyn and her sounds!

We waited a while for the smiles, but now she is giggling and smiling a lot. At the March of Babies walk she was smiling like crazy with her bugs that hang on the car seat. She is already 3 months on Saturday, so more photos to come.

Ady's First Easter

My beautiful baby girl with my amazing husband on Easter Sunday! She did so well at her first Easter service. She enjoyed looking around at the people and the sun shining in the church. She even was able to get in a little nap. I don't think life can get anymore perfect, I am truly blessed. We are blessed to have such a loving, supportive family. Although a little scary and stressful during the first month, it was all worth it. Adelyn is such an amazing, good baby. She loves watching us, she smiles at the silly faces we make, and even acts like she wants to laugh (probably because she can't believe we are her parents). She is changing everyday, it is hard to believe she is almost 12 weeks old! Mommy and daddy are feeling more rested, Adelyn has been sleeping through the night for several weeks now. She also has recently outgrown her newborn clothing. It was a sad day for me to pack away her clothes because it was my first realization that my baby is going to grow up. We love our Adelyn so much, and look forward to many smiles and laughter!

Our Peanut is already 2 months!

Mommy and her little angel in her first Bears shirt and jeans! As you can see her legs are a little short for the pants, but she still looks adorable.

I'm beginning to see a pattern with our pictures of Adelyn, she is always sleeping. Well she is adorable and pretty peaceful looking so I can't pass up on these shots.

We caught a quick smile while taking her 2 month photos on her frog in her first dress. We think she actually smiled at us yesterday, but she has yet to show us again. She does give us little smiles while falling asleep that are truly priceless.

These two photos are just hilarious so they have to be included! We spend our time just watching the funny expressions Adelyn makes, wow how times have changed!

Thursday was Adelyn's two month well child checkup, and she did great. She is 9 lbs and 12.5 oz! The doctor said she is looking great, and may not have to be classified as "preemie" much longer since she is catching up on some milestones. She also received her first set of immunizations which was a bit more traumatic for mom & dad than Adelyn. It is crazy to think we don't go back to the doctor until 4 months which is also the time I go back to work, and Adelyn will be going to daycare a few days a week. We visited the daycare on Thursday, and although we don't want to take her anywhere, we feel comfortable taking her to this location. Although Tim said the other babies looked like they could eat her since they were twice her size. We are quickly finding out just how fast babies grow! Looking back at Adelyn's hospital photos seem like a totally different baby, and we can now appreciate the fragility of the entire situation. We thank God everyday for our little blessing!
