We are happy to report that for the most part, Peanut's room is finished. We finally found some window treatments that were subtle, yet matched the style of the room. Where you say....umm Target of course! Another exciting project we completed was the tablecloth. It originally was a shower curtain, but it had the right color combination to bring the other elements of the room together. After a major fiasco with the sewing machine, and thanks to Becky's help, we were able to complete the project. We were actually proud of ourselves for changing the square shower curtain to a round, hemmed tablecloth. We used several things found around the house that haven't seen light in many months...fabric measuring tape, dowel, sewing machine, ironing board, and iron. We were so excited after finishing the hem, we decided to wash the tablecloth and remove the marker line we used to cut the fabric. Definitely not one of our brightest moments, we chose the marker because it said "washable" so it should wash out right....umm no it doesn't wash out. Good thing it was a similar shade of the fabric, and on the underside of the hem. Hey we were using parts of our brains not normally used! Anyway we are proud of our work because normally we would just buy something close enough.
The picture below is with the additional lighting on the wall near the window. The above picture is a more accurate depiction of the colors. The lamps are nice for a subtle light in the evening. You can also see our baby monitor on the side table, the project that Tim took ownership of - taking several hours of research before making the purchase. His primary focus was finding a monitor that wouldn't have feedback, and communicated on its own frequency. After several months, he decided on a monitor that would meet our needs - or wants.
We also recently received our mobile, it is kind of hard to see. It has blue and green on the mobile, along with a little turtle, snail, bee, and frog. Behind that on the crib is the little lamb that plays soothing sounds for the baby. We also added some adhesives to the wall that matched the mobile. It is much cuter in person, but you get the idea from the picture. You are also more than welcome to come see the nursery up close once Peanut decides to make his/her debut.
We are shocked how quickly this pregnancy has gone, we are down to a single digit week countdown. We went in for an ultrasound at the beginning of the year to see Peanut's growth because I was measuring larger than weeks. We wish we could post pictures, but our child had his/her hand over the face in every picture with the exception of the one where the foot covered the face. Peanut was estimated at 4 lbs, when it should have been 3-3.5 lbs. So they wanted me to check my blood sugars for a week to see if that would illustrate why Peanut was a little larger than average. After passing 3 glucose tolerance tests and a week of testing, I hope the doctor will stop trying to diagnose me with Gestational Diabetes and decide that Peanut's size might just have something to do with genetics. Mommy was almost 9 lbs and daddy was close to 11 lbs, sometimes I'd hoped it was GD so I could control Peanut's weight gain but I'm also glad that I don't have something else to worry about during the remainder of the pregnancy. We go in for a follow up ultrasound next week, so we are hoping Peanut decides to give us a nice little picture while still being modest enough to keep the gender a secret. Less than 9 weeks to go, we are so excited for Peanut's arrival!

It looks marvelous! Finally I am able to see the pictures on your blog...for months now I was unable I thought it was because of viewing it from work and made multiple attempts to no avail...so not sure why now but I think maybe God is having mercy on me. The updates and hearing all the ebbs and flows of the daily surprises are hilarious, thank you! Love you all!!
How perfect, this is one lucky peanut.
